WB-UPS v.2: legacy model comparison
Selected legacy-model reference. WB-UPS v.2 is discontinued. For the requested current model, use the WB-UPS v.3 manual. Specifications and parallel-operation behavior differ between versions.
WB-UPS v.2 ratings
| Parameter | Value |
|---|---|
| Input | 12–28 V DC |
| Battery-mode output | 11.2 V or 22.3 V, selected on the PCB |
| Continuous / peak power | 15 W / 20 W |
| Quoted runtime at 12 W | 50 minutes |
| Charging consumption | 6 W |
| Status output | Isolated open collector, 100 mA / 30 V |
| Battery charging temperature | 0 to +45 °C |
| Battery discharge temperature | −20 to +60 °C |
Operation and version differences
Connect the supply to Vin/GND and the load to Vout/GND. Select the output-voltage range with the PCB switch to match the input supply. Full and Charge LEDs indicate external power; In fail indicates battery operation and closes the Status output.
Parallel v.2 modules extend runtime but do not increase permitted output power. Do not apply the v.3 parallel-power instructions to v.2.
Known issues
ERRUPS01: isolated battery-swelling cases were reported in all WB-UPS2 models, suspected to result from frequent operation above the 15 W continuous rating. Do not exceed the continuous rating; the source specifies warranty replacement for affected units.
ERRUPS02: versions 2.4 through batch 2.4C/1 can overheat and damage the charging converter in cramped, poorly cooled panels. Avoid overheating. The source specifies warranty replacement and reports a fix in batch 2.4C/2 and later.
