WB-MWAC software and configuration
Complete device documentation WB-MWAC.
Description
Installation
Software is installed at the factory on an automated test station during production. End users do not need to install it; interaction takes place through the controller web interface.
Cost
Software is supplied free with the device.
General information
The software controls the device hardware and is an integral part of it. It is written in C.
Functions
Digital input processing for leak sensors and buttons:
- Support for passive, active and monitored leak sensors;
- Contact debouncing;
- Support for latching and momentary buttons;
- Recognition of short, long, double and short-then-long presses;
- Press counting;
- Edge control configures actions on input closure/opening, useful for latching switches or inverted-logic sensors;
- The same input can support either a leak sensor or a button.
Pulse-counter input processing:
- Pulse counting, including without external power;
- Conversion of pulse counts to physical units.
Output control:
- Controller commands over Modbus;
- Flexible digital-input mapping enables operation without a controller;
- Fail-safe configuration for interface communication loss:
- Leave behavior unchanged;
- Set outputs to specified states;
- Enable input control;
- Set power-on output states;
- Set output states for leak-sensor activation;
Indicator control:
- S — green status LED, flashes during Modbus communication;
- K1, K2 — relay-state indicators;
- Leak mode indicator;
- F1–F5, S6 — input-state indicators;
- Buzzer — audible indicator.
Modbus RTU communication:
- RS-485 connection with Fast Modbus support for immediate event delivery;
- Configuration through the Wiren Board controller web interface;
- Firmware updates over Modbus to fix issues or add functions.
Additional functions:
- Multiple operating modes:
- Armed — waiting for leak-sensor activation;
- Leak — closes shut-off valves and indicates a leak;
- Wet cleaning — ignores sensor activation caused by water during cleaning.
Software component functions
Bootloader
- Device firmware updates;
- Communication settings reset when the current settings are unknown.
Firmware
- Bidirectional Modbus RTU communication with the master;
- Hardware interaction:
- Output control;
- Module input processing;
- Indicator control;
- Writing and storing configuration and measured parameters in device memory.
Configuration
wb-mqtt-serial driver

The wb-mqtt-serial driver configures the device through the controller web interface. Its configuration tool is under Settings → Configs → Serial device driver configuration, available only in administrator mode.
Scanning for Wiren Board devices

Find and add Wiren Board devices scans devices connected to RS-485 ports. A discovered device can then be added to wb-mqtt-serial.
Device configuration

In wb-mqtt-serial configuration, enable polling of readable parameters and set writable parameters. Parameters are grouped into:
- Counters 1 and 2;
- Inputs F1–F5;
- Outputs;
- Safety Mode;
- Wet cleaning mode;
- General;
- Module data.
Fx input-mode configuration:
- Control disabled — used to measure input signal frequency;
- Edge control — configure output and operating-mode actions for rising and falling input edges;
- Digital input or button — flexible output actions for the corresponding momentary button, recognizing different press types;
- Leak sensor — configure output and operating-mode actions on leak detection.

Viewing current parameter values

After Save settings, WB-MWAC appears on the Devices tab, where digital-input states and counters can be viewed and outputs controlled.
Software updates

The software is continually improved, and the web interface includes a firmware-update tool in the wb-mqtt-serial configurator. When new firmware is available, an update prompt appears automatically.
