WB-MGE v.3 firmware changelog
Overview
Firmware is updated through the web interface; see the device manual.
Changelog
1.3.0 (06.08.2026)
- Added a Modbus bus analyzer: real-time RS-485 traffic capture in the web interface, with device-address and function-code filters, CSV export and error statistics
- Added a register-map cache: populated automatically from bus traffic and served over Modbus TCP, with value timeouts, reset and CSV/JSON export
- Added transparent RS-485 repeater mode between the device ports
- Added device-information registers at Unit ID 255, accessible over Modbus TCP
- Added TX disabling for each RS-485 port: the port physically switches to receive-only mode, allowing safe monitoring of an existing third-party bus
- Added permanent Wi-Fi disabling: the radio does not start at boot. This cannot be reversed through the API; a factory reset is required
- Added update-channel selection (stable or testing) and one-click firmware updates from the selected channel, without manually downloading a file
- Fixed firmware-file uploads from browsers on macOS
- Expanded testing significantly: over 1,800 firmware and web-interface unit tests and around 240 end-to-end tests in 50 suites, running actual firmware in an ESP32 emulator (QEMU) over HTTP, Modbus TCP and WebSocket
