WB-MAI6 comparison with earlier modules

revision 79357

Return to MAI6 page

WB-MAI6 replaces earlier products: the WB-MAI11 module and Wiren Board controller expansion modules WBIO-AI-DV-12 and WBIO-AI-DV-12/4-20MA.

Compared with WB-MAI11

Unlike WB-MAI11, WB-MAI6 has 6 differential channels instead of 11, fits a three-module enclosure and takes half the DIN-rail space.

WB-MAI6 accepts up to 12 signals of 0–10 V and measures voltages up to +30 V. Single-ended signal types can be freely combined, without the WB-MAI11 restrictions.

WB-MAI6 also measures resistance up to 2 MΩ in two-wire mode, including various NTC thermistors.

WB-MAI6 inputs have overvoltage protection and tolerate ±30 V in any mode.

Compared with WBIO-AI-DV-12 and WBIO-AI-DV-12/4-20MA

WBIO-AI-DV-12 is a side expansion module for a Wiren Board controller. WB-MAI6 is a standalone RS-485 Modbus RTU device usable with any controller or PLC.

In addition to WBIO-AI-DV-12 voltage modes, WB-MAI6 supports single-ended 0 to +30 V measurement for 12 separate signals. Input modes are selected in software, without changing jumpers.

As with WBIO-AI-DV-12/4-20MA, up to 12 signals of 4–20 mA can connect to WB-MAI6. WB-MAI6 also converts these signals to physical units without controller processing and detects error status.

WB-MAI6 supports many other signals and sensors, including 0–20 mA, 0–10 V, thermistors and thermocouples.
