Using WB-AMPLED with WB-LED

revision 107793

Selected connection guidance for expanding a WB-LED installation; this is not the complete WB-AMPLED product manual.

WB-AMPLED is a four-channel constant-voltage LED amplifier. Supply range is 9–48 VDC; maximum output is 10 A per channel at up to 48 V. Control inputs draw approximately 2 mA.

  1. Connect the dimmer outputs to the amplifier Inputs terminals.
  2. Connect the amplifier supply to + and −, and join amplifier and dimmer supply grounds.
  3. Connect the strip loads to outputs 1–4. Size the common positive conductor for the total current of all four channels, up to 40 A.
  4. Size each supply for its connected load. Several amplifiers may share a dimmer control signal, but never parallel the power outputs of separate WB-AMPLED units to increase power.

Upper terminals are rated 20 A; lower minus terminals are rated 30 A. At full amplifier load, use at least two minus terminals with a combined conductor cross-section of at least 4 mm². Control-input current is small, but power wiring must be sized for load, installation method and voltage drop. Separate cables to different strips where possible to reduce coupling; reducing PWM frequency may also help. See cable sizing.
