WBE2R-R-ZIGBEE v.2 known issues
ERRWBE2RRZIGBEEV20001: Low transmit power
Affected devices
WBE2R-R-ZIGBEE v.2 all batches up to and including v2.4A.
If you cannot inspect the module revision, identify its version from the console:
- Connect to the controller over SSH.
- Run the command (zigbee2mqtt must be running):
mosquitto_sub -t zigbee2mqtt/bridge/info | grep -oP '"type":\s*"zStack[^"]*"|"revision":\s*\d+'
- The response will contain:
"type":"zStack3x0"— this is WBE2R-R-ZIGBEE v.2;"revision":2022MMDDor"revision":2023MMDD— the firmware must be updated.
- After the firmware update, the type value remains unchanged, while the
"revision"field will contain version2024MMDDor later.
- Stop the command by pressing Ctrl+C.
Description
Low transmit power from WBE2R-R-ZIGBEE v.2 to sensors/routers. At a critical distance, sensor data still reaches WBE2R-R-ZIGBEE v.2, but signals from the module no longer reach the sensor/router. Changing transmit power in the zigbee2mqtt configuration has no effect.
Cause and details
The problem is caused by using the unsuitable CC1352P2_CC2652P_other_coordinatorfirmware. This firmware controls power through microcontroller pins DIO_6 and DIO_5, which are unused on this module. The correct CC1352P2_CC2652P_launchpad_coordinator firmware uses the correct pins, DIO_28 and DIO_29, to control transmit power.
Workaround
Update the WBE2R-R-ZIGBEE v.2 firmware following the instructions.
Fix
Fixed in newer WBE2R-R-ZIGBEE v.2 modules, starting with batch v2.4A/1.
